GLEAMNS receives funds for the
Weatherization Program to help eligible households with provisions of
services and materials in the Upper Savannah Region (Greenwood, Laurens,
Edgefield, Abbeville, McCormick, Newberry, and Saluda), as well as
Anderson, Oconee and Pickens Counties. The State of South Carolina
Weatherization Assistance Program establishes the policy that eligible
dwellings units shall have the following energy conservation measures
installed as warranted:
|
By lowering energy
bills for low-income families, Weatherization increases their
self-sufficiency.
Weatherization
measures are
delivered to homeowners and renters who
reside in single-family homes and
mobile homes. Priority is given to
applicants who are elderly, disabled, and
households with children.
Applicants must be income eligible to qualify for Weatherization
Assistance based on Federal Poverty Guidelines.
Applicants eligible for Weatherization are
those who indicated they wanted
their dwelling weatherized during specific enrollment periods.
Applicants are placed on a waiting list based on date of application
arrayed by county. Applicants are notified in writing when their
dwelling has been selected from the waiting
list. Applications are
available at our main office in
Greenwood
