Youth Leadership Institute

In mid-July 2018, the GLEAMNS CSBG Youth Leadership Program attended the 12th Annual Statewide Youth Leadership Institute. The South Carolina Association of Community Action Partnerships (SCACAP) hosted this four-day event, which took place at Hickory Knob State Park in McCormick, SC from July 10-July 13, 2018. Various workshops and activities took place to echo this year's theme, "Developing Youth to be Leaders." Experts from different career fields shared practical experiences with the students. Millicent St. Claire, an inner connectivity coach from the LIGMO Institute, provided students with helpful tools for personal and professional growth. ??Moreover, a panel of recent college graduates shared their experiences of campus life with the YLP students. The panel comprised of participants from the SCACAP's 2018 Community Action Fellows and gave students the chance to learn about college life first-hand. Students participated in other activities as well, including team building and networking opportunities.

GLEAMNS had five YLP students along with the YLP instructor to represent the agency for the event.
